What a great atmosphere! The food is fantastic! The Chimi has the most amazing flaky wrap and the queso really ties it all together. The fish tacos are the best I have ever had! No joke. If you are in Shepherdstown, skip the chain restaurants and hit this place up. You will not be disappointed!
Fun stickers and great food! Service was excellent too!
Super nice employees! Great selection for a menu! I was very impressed!!d
Nothing too fancy just really good rock solid tacos. Got my kids the pork/carnitas - not a crumb left on their plates.Definitely hitting it again next time i am in shepherdstown.
Wow, some seriously good Mexican Food! A friend of mine told me I had to try this place out when in town. Glad I did. Friendly service. They person at the counter made a few suggestions, and patiently answered my questions. I was not disappointed. Was quite full after having one of their burritos (fresh ingredients). Great variety of choices off their menu. See picture that I uploaded. Will stop here again next time I am in town.
Great fresh food. Very flavorful. Quick service !
We LOVE Maria’s! It is usually our reason for heading to Shephardstown anyway. Everything is always delicious, the staff is super friendly, and the atmosphere is great.
Delicious food. Busy busy place.Make sure to get here as soon as they open if you want to get a seat. The place is super popular and had a line out the door no more than 30 minutes after they opened. The staff is nice and they take care of you fairly quickly. The food is the best part though, they do a great job with the sauces, the flavor of it. It's just straight up tasty food.We embarked on our trip late just to make sure we could enjoy this restaurant.
This place is so cool! It's a cute, stylish and trendy establishment, in a quaint little town. The food is always excellent. They give you large portions of anything you order. We love stopping in for a bite to eat while enjoying a motorcycle ride around the local countryside.
A huge bang for your buck and the best nachos anywhere around! Open late and walking distance to multiple bars and fine dining but this place has so much character that you will want to eat whatever you got for carryout here! Authentic New Mexico (Santa Fe) atmosphere, menu and food! Shining star in downtown Shepardstown. Patron goes very well with this fabulous food!
Pros: Food is excellent (high quality ingredients and preparation); quick & friendly service; great atmosphere (best art I've seen in a Mexican restaurant, and I've been to many). Cons: Limited seating, some nights they have music which likely further impact seating availability; prices may seem high to some (we felt the prices were fair given the quality and portion size).I ordered a Chicken Chimichanga, and it was completely full of just chicken, no rice or bean fillers. Overall, we feel it is definitely worth checking out if in the Shepherdstown area. I know we'd return without hesitation.
The food was amazing. Nice portion size, great menu along with excellent service. I come from Baltimore, MD and when I'm in the area having Mexican food you will find me here at Maria's!
I go to this marvelous place every couple of days since I enjoy the good air that is outline this place. The team is extraordianrillyremarkably attentive and experienced. The service is exceptionally quick. Also, the food you eat is exceptionaly good. I visited many times and I was never disappointed. The expense is reasobable. I recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.
Wow! Do yourself a favor and stop reading the reviews and go eat here. NOW! All kidding aside, the food is Amazing. The flavors pop, the staff remarkable, and the wait is nothing compared to other restaurants. I have no doubt you will be adding a review as soon as you are done eating if not during the meal. Thank you to the staff!
Fish tacos were pretty darn good.. No lie!! And pretty too.. :)
Three of us got the fish tacos and we all agreed they were very tasty. The pork chimi also got great reviews. I wouldn't order the coconut cream pie again - too much cream, not enough coconut. Will be back for sure!
Wow! What a hidden gem. We were camping at Antietam and found this restaurant. the food was delicious and everyone enjoyed their tacos burritos and plantain chips. Fair pricing and good beer. Definitely worth stopping at in Shepherdstown West Virginia.
Fish tacos were quite good, albeit a bit unconventional. The place is also very clean, and very comfortable.
Yummy chimchangas and tacos. Service was great. Will definitely visit if we are back in the area again.
I wouldn't call it traditional Mexican food more of a Mexican-American or Tex-Mex type cuisine...the food is AMAZING though..and the service OUTSTANDING... definitely a GREAT place to try out!!! Pictured are the fish tacos meal that had AMAZING flavor!!!
My 8 or 9 dollar bed burrito could have easily been 3 meals. For value alone this place is out-standing. The food itself was incredible, so I only took home about a third of my meal, but will happily enjoy it again tomorrow!
Ended up here by happenstance and I'm so glad we stayed for lunch! The service is fast and friendly. The food is super fresh and flavorful! I had a Taco Salad with Chicken and my son had 2 Kids Beef Tacos. We shared the Fried Plantains which were AMAZING!!! Definitely make a stop here...you'll be glad you did!
I met people who travel from Fairfax, Va., 90 minutes away, just for these tacos.
Loved it. High quality burritos
I ate here between plays at the Contemporary American Theater Festival. Loved my pork burrito - very generous portions and the food was fresh and well-seasoned. The staff was very friendly too!
I love this place. We ate outside on a beautiful day. I had soft chicken tacos and they were delicious. The tacos were full of fresh flavors. The chicken was so tender and good.
The food was fine and the lady who served our food, not sure that she was a waitress, had the most welcoming smile. The gentleman at the ordering counter on the other hand was rude. I see there is a table with 5 chairs and my party is of 6. So, I asked him if he could helps us with a table for six. The guy sent me to grab a chair. I am thinking I am not patronizing this establishment ever again, but I don't want to make a fuzz so I decide to stay for my family and friends. Later on I noticed that he is being quite nice to my friend and other white customers, he is white himself. It might have been a coincidence. But that let me thinking, was he rude to me because I am Hispanic? Anyway, I do have choices when it comes to spending my money. We won't be coming back.
Phenomenal tacos, super affordable, and a very friendly staff. The fish tacos were some of the best I've had anywhere.
As usual, excellent and friendly service. Always feel welcome. Coconut cream pie is outstanding. You get the dessert first. Impossible not to taste before your meal.
Seriously, this place is amazing. Just get off Google and go.
Hubby and I just ate there excellabt food and we lived in Arizona. Had the Maria burrito it is huge but are every bite. Bottled drink which prefer. Service was quick very nice. We live in Pa but will be back
We stopped in town for some lunch and found this place. OMG everything we had was awesome and fresh. Service was great too.
Good prices, excellent food. Had the Maria Jane Special (burrito with salsa or Pico, covered in queso) - if you eat it all and leave still hungry..... that's an accomplishment. Especially if you also had an order or chips & queso or salsa... Will definitely return.
Always fantastic food and wonderful service!! Highly recommend the Ghost-Face-Dilla 🔥
The food is fantastic and the service is always awesome!!
Jalapeno Popper, Fish Tacos, BURRITOS! Things that make this life truly worth living. All reasonably priced and great surroundings.
Really fresh and tasty. I loved the coconut pie.
We were looking for a good taco place, so we decided to give Maria's a try. We had lunch here and we liked it. The food was better than we expected. Nice presentations on all plates and the flavor was outsatnding. Great customer service. The place was nicely decorated and we'll kept. Highly recommend it. Nice addition to the Shepherdstown community.
My wife and I ordered dinner to go and it was amazing. The fish tacos were so good. Was happy to see that the staff were all wearing masks and had enacted social distancing procedures. Definitely want to eat here again.
We loved this place! We were in from out of town and I'm so glad we chose this place for our dinner. The food was fresh, flavorful and so reasonably priced. They offered contactless and thoughtful service during this take out only phase. Highly recommend!
Every visit I have had an above and beyond experience here. It boils down to the owner and employees. They genuinely care about the customer's experience and have incredible insight and knowledge about their menu. The food is as fresh/authentic as it gets and is so flavorful. I love the plantains and the coconut cream pie is always my closer. You can't go wrong with Maria's Taqueria. Hands down my favorite restaurant in Shepherdstown!
Visiting from DC and this was one of the first places we went. Food is incredible - loved the fish tacos. Staff are lovely too!
Great service, reasonable prices, and amazingly tasty food! The MJ burrito and coconut cream pie is awesome!
This is by far one of the best locations when looking for quick, cheap, and good-quality vegetarian and vegan meals. The staff is kind and always serving best, with the location being convenient and inviting.
I haven't had a meal here I didn't enjoy! I highly recommend the taco salad. Everything was very fresh and delicious. The restaurant itself is sort of small, but so are most other dining places in Shepardstown. I've been here for lunch and dinner, and every time it's busy - but not so much that you have to wait for a table.
Quick Mexican cuisine with an American flair. Everything on the menu is great and not like every other chain restaurant. This is one of my favorite spots for lunch.
Delicious food in a friendly atmosphere. Fresh, locally sourced ingredients at an affordable price. The "Maria's Chimi" was excellent.
Very empty for a friday nite. Food is excellent and quick. Service is even better. Friendly polite staff. Price is average.
I have lived in Los Angeles and Chicago and New York and traveled everywhere in between over the course of many years in this life and if you told me that one of the best chimichangas I would ever have in my life would be from a small town in West Virginia I would have thought you were smoking crack yet here we are. Amazing. Cooked to perfection and with good service and a very interesting drink selection.
Nice place for lunch in a quaint college town. Fast meals with fresh ingredients, beats fast food any day!
